Tanks

Cone bottom tanks are the perfect solution for getting every last drop out of the tank. The conical bottoms enable quick and complete drainage. These tanks are also referred to as sloped bottom tanks, conical tanks, full drain tanks, fermenter tanks, brewing tanks, and mixing tanks. They are frequently used in the industrial, agricultural, commercial, manufacturing, and water treatment sectors. These tanks are also commonly used in winemaking, vinification, brewing beer, and distilling. In addition to being FDA approved to hold potable water, these tanks are often used to store chemicals, fertilizers, slurry, diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), and biodiesel.

Conical tanks are built by leading rotomolding manufacturers Norwesco, Ace Roto-Mold, and Snyder. They are produced by rotationally molding high-density virgin polyethylene resin into a seamless, cone bottom shape. This process makes sloped plastic tanks that are durable, along with being resistant to impact and a wide range of chemicals. The UV inhibitors that are added during the manufacturing process protect the tank from sun degradation, so these conical tanks may be kept outside.

Cone bottom tanks are offered in sizes as small as 7 gallons up to as large as 13,000 gallons. These fully drainable tanks are available in specific densities of 1.5, 1.7, and 2.0. XLPE (Crosslink Polyethylene) options are available upon request. They come in transparent white or opaque colors of black, yellow, and light blue. Gallon indicators are a standard feature on every cone tank that allows for convenient, easy viewing of fluid levels. A stand or alternate form of support is required to keep the tank upright due to its conical base. The stand also raises the base off the floor, allowing room for drainage.

Each tank comes with a lid and has an outlet installed at the bottom of the cone for draining the tank. The manufacturer will install additional bulkheads or bolted fittings upon request. National Tank Outlet provides custom fabrication and additional optional accessories such ladders, extended stands, fittings, flanges, welded couplings, welded flanges, heat trace and insulation when desired. Snyder, Ace Roto-Mold and Norwesco all provide a standard three year manufacturer’s warranty for their tanks. Norwesco heavy duty conical tanks come with a 5 year manufacturer warranty.
